Thorpe Park from Birmingham?

Hello,
I recently got some free tickets from the Sun for Thorpe Park to be used on the 20th of October. I've always wanted to go so I'm desperate to use them!
However, I, and my partner, don't drive, so we're trying to find a train/coach down there. All the ones I can find are over £100 single fare, then another £100 for the return  .
Is there any way any of you clever people can tell me how to get it cheaper? I want to arrive for park opening time and leave after it shuts. We obviously need travelling time from the station in the morn, and park on the evening. We can get into Birmingham New Street.
I really hope someone can help, as we're trying to keep travel/spending costs to the price of £81, which is what we saved by getting free tickets.
Thanks in advance

You could try www.megabus.com Birmingham to London on 20 Oct fares start from £4 single for two people and return fares on the same date are a similar price. From Victoria Coach station you walk 5 minutes to Victoria tube Underground station, 2 stops to Westminster station change onto the Jubillee line for 1 stop to Waterloo (about 5-7 min journey time) and then catch the train from there to Staines (30-50 mins journey time) where there is a shuttle bus to Thorpe Park.
You would need to get a really early morning coach from Birmingham to get to TP for the 10am opening time. Maybe you could get the coach/train down the night before and stay at a Travelodge not too far away from TP? You could get the Virgin train on the Megabus site for £6 in total for the two of you on 19 Oct into London Euston from Birmingham Internation or New Street stations. TL £12 room sale is on Tomorrow so you may get lucky and get a cheap room for Staines or Heathrow (as the no 51 bus seems to go from Heathrow T5, but you may need to pay for a shuttle bus from the TL to Heathrow).0 -

About half the trains from Waterloo to Staines stop at Vauxhall... i.e. about four an hour for Staines stop at Vauxhall.0
