Have I been scammed?

Options
I sold an item on Amazon which I then posted to a business on 29th July. I obtained proof of postage but have since lost the piece of paper. I emailed twice since then to ask if it had arrived. I have not had a reply. Ive now received an email asking where the item is.

I've carried out a bit of research and found out that there is a company trading with a different name that sells the same item I sold to them but this business has a different name and they sell on Ebay.

Withouth the proof of postage I cant see any other option than to refund the customer.

Your thoughts...........................?

Even with the proof of postage you couldn't prove they had received it. You could claim of the PO though.

You'll need to refund, lost post is always the sellers responsibility, if you should find the COP then you can claim from RM.

Firstly, why did you keep emailing to see whether item had arrived, I see no reason at all for that.

AS above though no you probably haven't been scammed it was just an unlucky co incidence. You will have to refund the buyer of course.

AS for the business, there are many businesses buying on Amazon, most using different company names 'Crusader' used to be the biggest. With books (so I assume it works for other items as well) they had software that searched for price differences between items on Amazon and ebay and buy to resell.

I've even done it myself on a few occasions, bought stock on one site to sell on another.
