Napolina are generally better quality. I've tried all the own brand ones and they are definately inferior. Tomato puree much the same. Simply wait for special offers on Napolina, as these come around quite regularly. Stock up when they do.

Sainsburys own (not basics) are good we find. A few months ago they seemed to be on offer a lot - the ones in the square cartons - and I bought some every week. We're coming to the end of that stock now, so will be looking again.

But Napolina really are good (I wouldn't pay £1.25 per tin tho' )
I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say. :)
  • I noticed the price in Asda last week and couldn't believe how expensive they were either! I bought a 4 pack from Home Bargains, for a fraction of the price. I don't like the cheaper ones either!

Naplolina plum tomatoes are £1.39 for a pack of 4 in B&M at the moment. Dated until Dec 2011.
  • Budgens have a half price offer..

Also noticed in Aldi tinned toms are 33P ( or thereabouts) a tin. Must be better than the tesco value, which are awful and cheaper than the Tesco own brand.

I use loads of tin toms so always stock up when offers are on but down to last tins now

    What's B & M ? x

I always buy Lidl's tinned tomatoes. They're the same price as the value ones, but much better quality with thicker juice. I did get some Napolina ones recently that were on offer and didn't notice any difference, so I'm sticking to Lidl's.
  • I much prefer the Napolina ones, they are thicker and taste better in my opinion. I only ever buy them when they are on offer though, I stock up then! If they are not on offer then I tend to get the Heinz ones or supermarket own, but not Value as they are too watery.
