Help with Child Benefit and means tested benefits

After a discussion in another thread it appears child benefit should not be deducted for income related benefits. What I want to know is:

Does this apply to child tax credits only?


I have my child benefit deducted as income, right now, and always have done, does anyone else get their child benefit deducted as income on means tested benefits?

When did this change, and does it apply to all benefits, such as IS, ESA etc?

Child Benefit is disregarded as income for tax credits purposes, as it is a non-taxable benefit.

Child Benefit has been disregarded as income for Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit purposes since October 2009.

I don't know about other benefits, but I am sure there will be someone along soon who can clarify.

I thought it worked that it was counted in the notifications as money in the notification at first, then to the right of the notice it would say something like the same amount disregarded as funds.
