Garage Bills (Car Repairs)

Options
Hi,

I am hoping someone car advise me on this one.

I will keep this as general as possible.

I purchased a second hand car in Feb 2011, 50k on the clock
for around £5,500 with a 3 month garage warrenty and asked for
1 years warrenty to be included in the selling price (this is done with a warrenty company).

The garage that sold me the card recommended a repair garage down the road who he has a special relationship with and all the repairs and servicing is usually done though them. He said any warranty stuff would be best done by them as they worked with the warranty company well.

Anyway first week of owning the car it was in for repair on a faulty break light connector. The car kept bleeping saying the break light had broken when it had not.

I also mentioned that the ESP traction control kept bleeping as well saying that was faulty.

The garage gave me the car back saying the brake fault was fixed and the ESP was ok. Before I managed to pull off the forcourt the brake was beeping again and so was the ESP.

They kept it another day and managed to fix the brake beep and also the ESP.

Everything was ok for a week and then the ESP came back, took it back to the garage again and they fixed the ESP for 1 month and then it was back beeping again.

Anyway by this time the ESP fault was getting on my nerves but I was going to put up with it as it beeped a couple of times a day and
I was told it was going to be a Peugot main dealer repair and it probably would not be covered under the warranty as it was not broken. Possibly a big cost and mine I was told.

2 months later the car is back in the garage for another fault Pollution filter problem £600, wear and tear and not covered under warranty. So I let them fix that.

1 month further on engine management light came on and pollution filter came on. My logic said it was the same problem as last time so
perhaps they done it wrong or the part was faulty. So I gave it back to them and they gave me another bill.

This time they said that 3 of the 4 fuel injectors had gone and it was again not covered by the warranty as the car was not broken and could be driven. Now for me the car kept stalling and was dangerous but never the less I could drive it to the garage.

I asked the garage to give me a cost for fixing the car and I would let them know if I wanted it fixed. That afternoon they quoted me £1200+vat. They then asked me for a credit card payment up front
for the parts as it was a big order. I said I would need to think about it and I would call them back as I might want to just trade it in.

I called back to say I did not want it repaired and to put it back together again and I would pay them the labour and to my horror they had ordered the parts and sent of my injectors in exchange.

I asked them if they could cancel the order and they said they could not as the deal was done and the parts were not returnable.

I then authorised the work as I was running out of time before going on holiday.

Its now been 3 weeks since the repair and my car was struggling on the motorway and miss firing. I thought I was going to breakdown again.

I dont know this garage well, I dont know the people and every time I put my farely new car in there I get a big unexpected bill. I am not completely sure I trust this garage to fix the new problem. It might be the injectors are faulty again or it just might be another big bill for something else.

I dont even know if my injectors are new or reconditioned.

I have done 13k miles since Feb 2011

So my question is:

1. Have I got any comeback on the original garage for selling me a
car with faults on ESP that are still not fixed and me having
had to pay out £1800 in the last 4 months on non-warranty
items.

2. If I was to put my car into a garage I do trust to repair it
would I have any come back on the other garage if it proved
to be the injectors again.

3. What about the warranty company and is there anyway I could
force the issue of them paying for the injectors as if the car is
stalling is it not broken.

Thanks in advance for any advise you can give.
