Ive sold an item on ebay BIN tonight and the buyer has piaid. Ive packaged up the item and its ready to go tommorow. However ive just had an email saying that the buyer no longer wants the item and can she have a refund?
I know I can refund through Paypal but how do I get my FVF back please?
The item will easily sell again so i'm not too bothered but I don't want to be out of pocket either.
Thanks

Unless you are a business, I'd send it and stuff em.

However...you can go to the "Awaiting Postage" page in "My Ebay" and select "Resolve a problem". From there there is an option to cancel the sale stating the buyer no longer wants it. Once the buyer clicks on the agree button in the message they get from Ebay you will be refunded your fees.
  • How annoying!

Think I'd go with Hammy and send it, a BIN item is hardly something you buy in error - Why should you have the hassle of relisting and waiting for the item to sell before seeing the money again?

The item has sold and been paid for, Surely this indicates they wanted the item?

Rant over - If you do cancel I'd try and make sure your fees are credited before sending a refund :D

If you send it you run the risk of the buyer raising a SNAD, they don't have to prove that it wasn't as described to get their full payment including P&P back. You would have paid to send it & be out of pocket for that as well as losing your listing fees.
As they've paid you can't do a NPB, to get them a strike.
I would tell them that you to cancel they need to agree to the request you send them. You'll get the FVF back but not the listing.
Then block them from buying from you again.

  • the buyer speaks broken English and from what I can make out she thought the curtains were for a dolls house not a childs bedroom so I can understand what shes done. Many Thanks

  • Email them and tell them you are sending a cancellation request, then you will refund in full.

Then go to the reposition centre in eBay and chose - I want to cancel. Follow the prompts. Once the buyer updates it you have to refund and you fees will automatically be reimbursed.
