To save you the money this year, it seems to have changed recipe and you can barely taste the marzipan!! :( was so excited when I saw all the lovely Lidl xmas treats and esp this and was sooo disappointed! They better not have messed with the teeny little spongy choc/marzipan square things!!

has anyone seen any candy canes on sale anywhere yet please? Needing for a hamper.

re candy canes. saw some in Home Bargains among the sweets

Seen them in Asda today....along with "old Fashioned" sweets in jars. £2 I think. Also had large chocolate coins - and small bags of coins.

I'm thinking about duck for Christmas. They have some in my local arsda right now for £9.99

What I'm wondering is - is it a good idea to buy one now and stash it away in the freezer? Or will prices or deals get better as it gets nearer the day? Or worse because of demand?

I think you're better off buying it sooner rather than later Squeaky. In my local butcher factory they've already added £1 to the cost of their duck breasts. I doubt anyone would lower the prices and like I've seen on the not 'T' thread this morning people were buying turkeys way back when they were out of demand and cheaper.

I'm guessing the same will be said for duck and goose..... guessing mind ;)
