The end of parking eye?

In recent years, I have been avoiding a particular small retail park since they use NPR cameras to clock cars going in and out.

Reluctantly, I had to pay the place a visit to run an errand for a relative, so braced myself, dutifully synchronised my watch so as not to be a second out, then headed in ready to check out the strict time limits. My preparations were in vain: not a single sign to be seen! Cameras gone!

Is this finally it? Has a landowner finally seen the light and given these clowns their marching orders? Is this the thin end of the wedge?

Currently, I'm enjoying the freedom to park there without fear and without any restrictions whatsoever. I may even shop there more regularly now.

The only deterrent from night-time boy racers and overnight stayers is a simple barrier and a sign (which has been there all along) stating when the barrier will be closed and locked daily. This is all that should be necessary to control rogue parking on land.

Just to gather nationwide info here, has anyone else noticed this lately?

The car park in question is one used by a medium sized branch of B&Q as well as a Home Bargains and a branch of Ugo (formerly Netto). I don't know if one of these "tenants" actually owns the land.

Oh, and for any landowners reading this, the car park is no busier now than when the draconian restrictions were in force and there are ample spaces for customers to park. The car park is never ever full.

I remember UKCPS being kicked off an Oldham car park for aggressive ticketing, but they were replaced soon later by another company. Lets hope its a departure not a replacement!

Ugo is now owned by Asda, lets hope its not TCP coming in?

UGO are not owned by ASDA. The latter sold off some Netto stores to this completely separate company. The ones they held on to have been re-branded as ASDA.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Thanks, I wondered why some were changing to Ugo and some Asda!

Why? Images from these cameras are quite useless and in no way evidential. They are just another ruse PE and the like use to harass people.

And they are not ANPR either. PE get the details from the DVLA by the same means as all the other scammers.

    Why?

To show that retail park that by employing Parking Spy, they will shop elsewhere.

Lets start the boycott now boycott parks where Parking eye and their buddies operate, I will sort out the sticker, to display in the rear window, NO TO Parking Eye, with a few graphics and make an image file available, if we all get together and show these retail park managers that they are in bed with a bunch of crooks, and the shops are losing custom, maybe they will get rid of them...

    That's good robredz!

Can you do a generic one 'say no to private parking companies = fake PCN scam' or summat as I don't think we have Parking Eye round here, we have a mixture of scammers.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
