OK if you want to travel in the middle of the night and those fares are each way - so total £98 - you could probably do a similar deal with one off the Ferry operators at more sociable times!

I'm a great fan of Eurotunnel and do a lot of my shopping in Cite Europe - but I do live in the SE so it takes me less than an hour to drive to the Tunnel.I quite often take advantage of their "overnight fares" You can get two whole days away (over a weekend) for a total cost of £54 per car. I can more than get that back on buying Wine in Tesco's Cite Europe, which is (on average) a third cheaper then in Tesco's here!

I did a quote for a return for the beginning of July and it was £110

so not that much difference
