any ideas where I can donate stuff to please?

I have a brand new IKEA double mattress topper pad (about 2-3" thick); 2 IKEA used but good condition blue poang chair cushions and headrests and a new, sealed bag of waterproof bed/chair pads (elderly pet was incontinent but I did not use them prior to his passing away).
I have tried Red Cross, a homeless charity in SE London and been told they have no use for them. I don't want to throw them away, especially the new stuff! I need to get rid now as they are clogging up my flat. I feel exhausted at the thought of trying to decipher freecycle's website and dealing with emails etc.
Is there any charity out there that would want them and could collect, does anyone know?

Getting rid of bedding can be tricky. But there is an umbrella organisation for voluntary groups in most areas. Ie Voluntary Action/Services etc. They would know of any interested charities. Failing that, there are businesses which buy second hand. There is one not far from me which collects then gives you a commission if subsequently sold from their showroom. In which case you can give the payment to charity.0

A dogs home will probably take them.0

If you can get in touch with Womens Aid they may know something like a battered wives refuge where women have fled with just a binbag, when they find a new home they need to furnish it from scratch.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Not so sure about the incontinence pads, but see if there's a local Furniture Recycling Group who'd like the other bits?Signature removed for peace of mind0

Sadly the local group on that list refused to take anything at all. I've now added some perfectly good wall light fittings too (I just changed them to ones I preferred) and it's really hard to do anything useful with electricals. I understand why but come originally from a country (S Africa) where nothing is wasted and it bothers me to have to chuck good stuff away.
I will hang on to the mattress topper & keep trying. Women's Aid sounds hopeful. thanks0 -
Some charity shops take electrical goods- they just have to have someone who is qualified to check them out.
I'm amazed no one wants these things! I reckon I could find them a home round here!! We have one charity shop that sells almost anything- even a wheelchair!
Do any of your local shops/supermarkets have a free adverts board?Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I had some household items and charities were so particular due to regulations that I ended up having to put them in the local paper for offers and someone bought them. We had some food left over from a seminar (and it wasn't curled up sarnies) it was surplus and the local charity who feed the homeless couldn't take it due to H&S :eek:The most potent weapon of the oppressor is the mind of the oppressed.
