Still busting the debt slowly but surely, but getting a little frustrated it's not disappearing quicker - feels like I'll never get rid of this debt! However it's not until I write it all down here that I realise that once it's gone I'll have an extra few hundred quid in my pocket to [STRIKE]spend [/STRIKE] save(!) each month... must keep going... nearly there...

    Cheers Palema xxx

Well I phoned Barclaycard today to close the account - got passed through to the 'Customer Loyalty Team' who spent 20mins trying to persuade me to keep the card... "Do you have another balance, we can transfer it on a good rate" (they couldn't beat the existing rate I've got and I'd have to pay a fee)... we can give you 0% on purchases (I pay the balance off in full on my day-to-day credit card every month and it gives me cashback)... we have an attractive reward scheme that gives you points for high street vouchers (I'm lucky enough to work for a company that has it's own rewards/cashback site that gives generous discounts on most high st stores out there)... the bloke sounded quite despondent by the end of the call!! But finally the account was closed and I've got a letter on its way to confirm.

Now where is that piece of plastic... I've got a pair of scissors and I'm not afraid to use them... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Is gonna be a good one...
Well as you already know Goldfish is paid off :j:beer:
Another one down, just M&S & Student Loan to go. Was debating leaving M&S and Student Loan on the minimum payment and put the money in a savings account, with SL I will probably do that but I just want rid of the credit cards so I'm planning for early-October for M&S to be gone.

As for other targets, I've gone nowhere fast this year! However we had a massive clean-up of the flat so all rooms bar the back room are tidy-ish, downside all the junk ended up in the back room, so I need to sort it before Xmas. Also reckon I could sell quite a lot of stuff, which will help.

Still aiming to be DF by the end of the year!

A little late as we've had no broadband for a week - felt like a limb had been cut off :o

Still aiming to be DF by the end of the year, but had a change of heart on the get rid of CCs asap. As my M&S is 3.9% for life and I can get more than that interest wise on a savings acct, I've decided to do some stoozing instead. So shall add my savings account to the below list.

Apart from the standard payments I have done nothing else DF-wise or house-wise as have been busy with weddings, christenings and retirement do's. Looking forward to a couple of weekends relax until I realised it was only 12 weeks till Christmas :snow_laug

Oct Review Bit of a mixed month - good DF-wise, it's now under £1k!!!!, I can now see the light at the end of what has been a very long debt-tunnel!! Downside, we've had redundancies at work, luckily I wasn't affected but had serious deja-vu from this time last year! Next week I'll have been in my new job for a year, time flys when you're having fun!!

Also wanted to say BIG thankyou to everyone on here who's supported me during the last three years or so - I woudn't be here right now if it hadn't been for your kind words, support and kicks up the @rse when I was struggling! xxx
