Hiya,
Wondering if someone can give me some assistance?
I have been working for a company for 1 year and 9 months. We are part of a Group. However, one of the companies have demergered from the Group therefore leaving me to show someone my job and then being told that me and 2 of my collegues are up for redundancy.
I have an interview for another job tomorrow. If i'm successful with this job do you think that i can ask my current employer for voluntary redundancy?
Also, if my colleague is made redundant and im kept on then i leave.... is my employer allowed to recruit for this position again after making some redundant?

It is not clear why you need to train someone and then be made redundant need a bit more of an explanation. who is being trined and why are you not doing the job.
but if it is correct.
If you tell them you have another job they will probably just let you leave without paying anything.
usualy it is best not to tell your employer you have another job unless allready under notice of redundancy and giving counter notice.
If you stay and leave after the redundancies they can recruit to replace.0 -
The company i deal with has demerged from the group. I am an accountant and the company who have demerged now have their own accountant. Im now training their new accountant.
Should I ask for voluntary redundancy if im successful in new job? Or just hand in notice? Will i still receive my salary at end of month?0 -
Redundancy payment is not payable until you have been with a company for at least 2 years.
So no point in asking for VR.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
