Epson printer

As my Epson printer has packed up (wont recognise black cartridge) I'm in the market for a new one. As it's not cost effective to send it to epson to get repaired I'll stick it on ebay as faulty.

I want another Epson one so I can use the stack of compatable inks I've bought for my R300. So anyone know where the cheapest place I can get a Epson R300/R200 from?

Thanks,

Pete.
I'll get me coat!

Epson cartridges are, basically, ink containers. The heads are in the printer itself, so letting it go dry is not a good idea.

It sounds like the purge counter has reached it's limit. Every time you start the printer it squeezes a bit of ink out, as it does when you clean the jets. This purged ink goes into some felt pads in the bottom of the machine. If it were just allowed to keep purging it would eventually overflow.

There is some FREE software for Epson printers (doesn't work with all printer / operating systems). If it doesn't work you've lost nothing.

Reset the counter and wash the felt pads in LOADS of water.

Whatever you do dont get the r265 they is also a r300 equivalent (not sure on number) it use to be r200 and r300 (r300 having the lcd display, card reader), the new printer uses different inks and no compatibles at present although I am sure that will change.
