Hey everyone!
Hope you are all well.
I am paying council tax and have a question. I moved into my flat in end of June and to pay 759.59 by January I have been told on phone.
its 155 then 151 a month (i nearly ko'd!)
my mum says she will give me 189 for first two months!
Can i just pay them that in one go n my monthly payments will go down or will they just say thats overpayment and wont accept it?

It'll be fine - once you've paid the first two months I would recommend you contact them and ask that they re-calculate the instalments for you.I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0
