Importing - 'how do i?' in a business sense

Hey guys (and girls!)

Would anyone be able to offer me either some advice, or a pointer in the right direction as to how I would go about importing goods from say, America, for resale in the UK? I'm not talking electronic goods here, so there's no electrical conversion issues, and the cost of the goods means there will be little to no warranty issues. I've looked at the HMRC website, and can't really make head nor tail of what they are saying, as it mentions a lot of forms that need to be filled in. It's for a business idea at the moment, so I don't really have a solicitor or anyone in the profession that I can ask for advice from!

Hope someone can help,

Rich
