Yes as it works out cheaper than finding a place to rent or lodging. And i get a couple of days working from home as well. Plus I have a Diesel car and I am not exactly on the breadline :)

    Update from my original reply.

After much argument with Esporta/Virgin over when exactly I gave them notice of my house move (I said it was 3 months from the date of the letter I sent, they said it was more like 4 months from the time they saw my bank account details with a new address on). We disagreed BUT the contract stated that the termination period was 3 months and the termination began from the time of written notice.

After many phone calls and letters from them insisting that I legally owed them for almost extra months and they were going to take me to court over £140 odd in money i allegedly owed them.... They wrote to me and said how very lucky I was, and that I should be very grateful as they (and I had to chuckle at this having worked in Financial services all of my working life) didn't know of any other company that would write off "legally owed money" in a "legally binding contract". i was free and i had it in writing as well !!

(I didn't bother responding to the last letter as you can never win an argument with an idiot ;o) )

7 days after the above letter I got another letter from ARC, this time informing me that I had 20 days to pay the £140..sigh.... Answered a single phone call from them, told them that I had a letter from esporta saying I owed nothing and I have heard nothing from them since.

    So I am Esporta free.

People need to be more mindful when committing to things!

Indeed, this is the first and last time I will ever take out a long term (and expensive) gym contract. Council swimming pool, pavement and mountain bike will do me just fine in future.
