BA luggage allowance

Just booked flights for three of us to fly BA from Manchester to Barcelona next June. This has been funded by some of my airmiles. In the documentation under the heading "baggage" it says "piece". I cannot find any further info on this. Does it mean one piece of hand luggage each, one piece of hold luggage each or one of each (although I am probably being a bit abitious with that one)

Each passenger is allowed one piece of hold baggage up to 23kg and one piece of hand baggage plus a laptop or handbag.
