Double The Difference is for purchases in store - if you get charged more than the SEL (Shelf Edge Label) states, they should refund you double the difference.

So if you spot something that says £5, and you get charged £10 at the till, then you would get 2 x £5 back = £10.

There is a thread on here where MSEers find such items. Some manage to get pretty amazing deals through it. Some Customer Service assistants can be a bit iffy about it though.

Yes same here - did have three in my basket but now only allows one free - better than nothing though so thanks OP.

  • I put my order in yesterday and it allowed only one box however, just had the delivery and I've been charged for it. Ok I phoned and have it refunded but she did annoy a bit when she said they would credit the money back "as a gesture of goodwill." I told her it was nothing to do with goodwill. They asked me if i wanted a free box and I had said yes.
I see many are getting charged. For everyone of us who notices, somelse won't. Great marketing ploy.
Funny how they managed to sort the blip where you could order 3 boxes, but they can't sort the blip that makes them money at the same time.

Got 3 boxes in my order delivered yesterday - not sample boxes either - the really big ones. Yes, you guessed it I got charged for all three of them. I contacted Tesco yesterday and today they have sent me an email saying the full cost of all the three boxes is being refuned to my card within the next few days. I have also had the confirmation email stating so.
