Another printer problem.

Canon IP4200.
Prints blues as pinkish.
Reinstalled printer software
Use easy print and through the windows software.
Adjusted print head.
Using defaults.
Driving me more bonkers than normal.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

    you tried cleaning the heADS?
Live in my shoes for a week, then tell me your lifes hard!
  • Blues as pinks suggests to me one of the coloured inks has run out, so I would try a new colour cartridge.
  • Done a standard clean, running deep clean now. New set of genuine inks.

  • The yellow section of the printhead is blocked, no amount of cleaning cycles are going to shift it, lift the printhead out and try soaking it in di-ionised water, failing that, if you have a Cartridge World or similar nearby take the printhead to them, they should have the right equipment to sort it, worst case scenario the printhead maybe on it's way out, they are replaceable but at around £50.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world
  • Thanks for the suggestion. Having done a print check there is a distinct and clear yellow printed line. There are two lines of colours for each of the cyan and magenta and one for yellow which is as it should be. The only discrepancy is a very indistinct second line on cyan.

Then the Cyan is the problem, but as you said in the OP that it was printing Cyan and Magenta I naturaly assumed the yellow was the problem, still do as I suggested, a deep clean will use 20% of the cartridges.

  • No better, unfortunately.

  • Done deep clean, also cleaned print head and now can get a faint extra cyan line so all should be well. Wrong, pics still come out with pink cast. Driving me mad.
