Asda Magic interview.....

:rotfl: Well, I went to my assessment today. I had to introduce the girl next to me. Just my luck she wasn't a great talker and I practically had to force a sentence out of her
Next we had to build a tower out of dried spaghetti and marshmallows....
I think it went ok, I'm just worried that despite me asking loads of questions to the girl I was working with, I got very little back from her. Mostly one word answers!!
I have to wait up to two weeks to find out whether I was successful, but I'm not holding out much hope!

Hi,
I remember my Magic session! They certainly have their own way of doing things!
Fingers crossed for you!

What are Asda like to work for? I got the impression they are a good employer, but you can never be too sure!!0

They are ok as far as supermarkets go (I've worked in a few!).
I like the fact that I can do my shift, then go home and forget about it!
What department (s) did you apply for?
The better flexibility you have put down the better, although you can apply to change your hours after the 12 week probationary period.

I've applied for all (it's a new store)but stated that I can't do nights. The form asked for preferred departments so I chose George as my first, and checkouts as my second. They said they are flexible so I've put my preferred hours at 930am through til 10pm Monday to Friday, and then 6am til 10pm weekends. I guess I'm worried that they'll look at my form and see I can't work until 930am and toss it to one side!! How long did it take you to hear from them?0

Your flexibility sounds excellent! I know they insist you work one weekend day (either Sat/Sun). I started out by working both but now just work a Sunday.
I think it took just over a week before I heard that I had been successful at the "Magic" session and invited for a one-to-one interview with my department manager.

Yes they said we have to work one late night (until 10pm) per week, and one weekend shift. I really want it, just have to wait and see now I guess! They have said our training will take place in other stores in the region, and they will offer us mini buses, or if we prefer, they will cover our petrol costs, which I thought was quite good of them.
What kind of things were you asked at the one to one interview?
Sorry for all the questions, I just want to be as prepared as possible in case I get that far haha

Lmao, how does this show if your any good at....... ANYTHING you do in a supermarket. Good luck, I remember my magic session. I did crap (and unsuccessful
) Thought for the day: each generation of mankind tends to hug the illusion of having reached the culmination of human achievement. Yet, as we scoff at our groping ancestors, so our descendants will surely scoff at us.
