Urgent washing machine help - screw loose inside

A friend on another site has had a disaster with her washing machine, and needs to know how to get into it to remove a screw, (out of a pocket, not part of the machine).

She has tried getting taking the back off, but it turns out that the back is moulded into the rear half of the machine, and she'd need to take the entire machine in half to do it that way.

What is her next move? She's done another wash to try to flush the screw down into the filter, but it hasn't worked. It's still banging around between the drum and the innards of the machine, but she can't hear it if she puts the drier on.

It is a Zanussi TurboDry 1200.

Are there any washing machine people out there that can advise us on what to do? She doesn't want to pay for an engineer to come out if she doesn't have to.

Its up to her but i would leave it well alone.
It will eventually be pulled into the pump and then it can be removed via the filter.

Another option may be to remove the rubber surround on the door of the machine but these can be a pain to get back on again.

Thanks for that, Alan. I'll pass on the advice. She was worried that it would do some damage in there, but it sounds as though you think it will be safe to leave it in until nature takes its course?

Do you mind if I ask whether you're a washing machine techie guy? Please don't think I'm being rude by asking, but my friend was in a bit of a state, and will be reassured if I can tell her the advice has come from an engineer.

Cheers again for the help! :):):)

    No i am a "real" engineer ;)
but my brother worked as as a service engineer for AEG for 7 years and that is his advice to me.

Mostly i took his advice, we have 2 boys under 5 so its intresting what goes in and comes out eventually.

On occasion i had the rubber seal off to remove something really annoying but as i said, its a pain to put back on.

The pump, filter and impellar are designed to allow coins etc to pass through without damage so a loose screw should not be a problem.
