Hi all, as I said in the title I am a novice and would like to know which is the best way to go with regards to using money abroad. We are about to book an all inclusive holiday to bulgaria for next september, and i wondered which method would be best for outside the hotel purchases, ie, impromptu meals out, gifts etc... We don't have a credit card between us as my husband was made BR a couple years ago and I don't work. Thank you for any replies xx:beer:

Check out the main MSE website above, I am sure Martin has posted an article on spending money abroad which you should read as some cards (debit) are terrible for charging fees, especially if you take small amounts of money out at a time. You can use your debit card in most places but if you go in any travel agent they will be only too happy to sell you a card which you load up with money, then you use like a credit card. I got a kalixa card (and got money back from tcb or quidco) and this has a similar principle (i.e. you don't pay whopping charges)
Not sure about bulgaria re: cards/cashpoints but I am sure another poster will advise.
