Santander cashback for switching current account

The £200 cashback offer Santander are running at the moment (I've already got a mortgage with them) was tempting enough to make me sign up, despite some of the bad stuff I've heard about them customer service-wise.
I'm rubbish with picking information out of terms and conditions and can't see how long I need to be with them (or if there is any minimum timescale at all) and still qualify for the cashback.
I'm happy with my current bank (Halifax) and thought that once I had taken advantage of the offer I could always close the Santander account and go back again (the idea being that I'd keep my Halifax account open). I did also wonder about splitting my direct debits between the two and moving £1,000 between them each month so I can qualify for the cashback on both, but I'm not sure if that would work or not and it's probably a bit too much of a hassle for an extra £5/month from Halifax.
Any pointers on whether I will be able to easily move away from Santander again in a few months time?
Thanks
