So if op files a chargeback, who will be given the opportunity to defend it? Nochex or the seller?

The reply I received today regarding the Royal Mail nonsense has really annoyed me.

If she really thinks her customers have to wait until she puts in a claim with Royal Mail and receive compensation before refunding payment then she should not be running a business.

I was very hesitant about placing the order since there was no option to pay through Paypal (only Nochex) but after reading her Facebook fan page and seen many happy customers I decided to place my order.

I was hoping Nochex would be able to recover my payment but it seems very unlikely, possibly the reason why she only accepts payments through Nochex.

I paid with my Visa Debit, does anyone know if my bank will be able to do a chargeback? I will call in to my local branch to ask but it won't be until Thursday.

Why would Nochex not be able to recover your money?

it's not necessarily a case of whether they can or can't, but whether they will or will not.

They are well known for crap service and poor levels of protection so it would be easier to extract blood from a stone.

What I should have said is I was hoping Nochex would help recover my payment. They will be able to but as arcon5 stated it is a case of whether they will or will not.

I am curious as to what excuses they make when they refuse to help their customers.

Nochex do not offer the same buyer protection as Paypal, they do offer better seller protection than Paypal though. A quick Google search will show their bad reputation when it comes to buyer protection.

I did submit a support ticket on the Nochex website but they too seem to be dragging it out, I am just receiving responses such as 'have you heard back from the seller yet or has the problem been resolved, if not open another ticket in so many days'.

I am still awaiting a reply from the ticket I submitted on the 2nd September so hopefully they will recover my payment soon.

    Update:

I finally received a refund today after I threatened to take further action to recover my payment. The seller was expecting me to wait until she received compensation from Royal Mail as that is her 'usual policy'. I don't think she understands consumer rights.

I received an email from Nochex stating that the full refund has been made but since I do not have a Nochex account will the money go into my bank in a few days or will I have to withdraw it from Nochex like the way Paypal works? Hopefully someone here who uses Nochex will be able to give me more information on this.

    TIA
