I'm going over to Plusnet who can't start my service until 23.12.11 now and they said they did'nt need a MAC code, however I'll request one anyway.0 -
Rest easy. Although TT will issue all sorts of dire warnings of what might happen ("you might need a new line/number" etc), Plusnet will do a seamless job. I migrated BB and phone to them from TT in October and there was 1½ hours downtime of the phone during the morning and BB was connected by 2100. No mac was required.Thanks

No Dire warning heres, as previously advised to the OP the new ISp will confirm the process and if a MAC is required.

Sorry, if this sounds stupid, but Plusnet have confirmed they don't need a MAC and will transfer the phone on 23.12.11, however TT are ceasing me on 22.12.11 what happens in that 24 hrs period?0 -

The Migration should be on the same day.
Can you confirm if you cancelled the TT service seperately or if this is cancelling due to the receipt of a migration order to plusnet beign received?

I rang TT seperatley to tell them that I was transferring to someone else, I was lead to beleive that I had to give TT 30 days notice.
Funny how my crappy braodband speed has suddenly doubled since I told them I was leaving!
I don't know whether to ring them up and ask excatley whats happening but theres always problems with my accent and their's0 -

If you join the Members Forum or tweet us @talktalkcare we can look inot this in more depth.
We need to confirm if the order oringated form your new isp (a transfer order) or from TalkTalk (a cease order) to advise you further. If this is a transfer everythign will complete ok. However if there is a cease order from TT this will block the transfer and potentially lead to issues.
We can check relevant security via twitter or the members forum that we are unable to do via MSE in order to look at this further.
