Norfolk Line

I was wondering if anyone has used Norfolk Line to go to France?

I've only ever used P&O Ferries, but considering Norfolk Line is a lot cheaper, I'm thinking of booking with them when I go to Disneyland later this month. Also, they have 7% cashback using Quidco as opposed to only 2% for P&O Ferries :j.

Yes, I've used them many, many times, last was at the begining of August.

They do have a few drawbacks though, they have less sailings than P&O so if you get there late or early you have to wait longer for an alternative sailing. The crossing is also longer, 1.5 hours.

Also Dunkerque is about 20-30 mins further up the coast from Calais and the connection from the port road to the autoroute isn't as direct as it is at Calais, so will add a bit onto your journey time.

Having said that, I still think it's worth saving the money if you have the time to spare.

I also use the First Class upgrade, you get loaded, and more importantly unloaded, first which saves a shed load of time, and the lounge with free drinks and fruit is a little haven of peace, infact it's quite a shock when you leave and realise just how busy it is! They used to do free nibbles and patries too, but have stopped that. They do offer a meal service in there though or you can take your own food in.

  • Have travelled with them several times. No problems. They go to Dunkerque a few miles up the road from Calais. We once turned up at Dover, went to all the desks and went with Norfolkline because they were the cheapest.:D
  • Thanks for all the replies. Will definitely book with them - it will save us £100 as we're going in 2 cars - more spending money in Disneyland.

One more quesiton, does anyone know what their cancellation policy is?

I only ask as we're travelling with family who need a visa to travel to France and it's looking a bit unlikely that they'll be able to get their visas in time. If they don't travel with us, we will only need one car to go.

    Thanks!
