Anyone help please.
I had an email with two 'Pdf' attachments - neither of which will open!?
X message says: -"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel"
I assume that should read Control Panel Folder Options!
But with-in there, no where can I see anything relating to outlook and Pdf. I can open other pdf files direct from the internet, or previously saved, just not via Outlook!?
Thanks in anticipation.

choose save as and save to your desktop. Then right click it and choose 'open with', pick Adobe Acrobat / Acrobat Reader and set to always use.
then go back and try and open it from Outlook.0 -
What access route am I taking to get to that point?
Am I going via the 'control panel - folder options, or another route?
The error message comes up with Documents & settings\user 1\Local settings - it only allows me to click on OK.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
you're doing it from the email.
Open Outlook
Open email
save the attachment instead of opening it, and save to your desktop
Right click on it and choose 'open with'
choose Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat reader from the list (or whichever PDF reader you use)
click the 'always use' box
let the file open
close it
try it straight from the email0 -
To scheming_gypsy - thanks for your help but I'm not there yet!?
I've got via email, then its 'file' and 'save attachments' then where?
Bottom of screen says 'save to followed by C:\Documents and Settings\user1\My Documents'
Should I change that, and if so what to? Please note - there isn't any scroll down bar with a list of alternatives!
There is a 'browse' button which brings up the 'desktop' you mentioned before - but right clicking on it just gives an icon 'What this'!I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Adobe software is slow, and bloated with features 99 per cent of users never need.
So you could try downloading the free version of Foxit Reader, which is lightning fast in comparison.
If all goes well, when you click on the attachment, it will either open automatically, or you should get a simple message along the lines of 'Open in Foxit Reader?'.

you can save it to anywhere. All you're doing is saving the file to somewhere outside of Outlook; My Documents, Desktop.. anywhere. Once you've saved it you right click the PDF file.0
