Vodafone broadband dongle

Long story short, my ex-husband cut off the phone and ADSL on Friday so to tide me over a couple of weeks until I get a new line it, I've had to buy a VF dongle. It came preloaded with £5 credit which I can see from the application and also from the account I set up on their website. All sounds good except I can't for the life of me see how to change the credit into data allowance.
Does anyone have one of these that could shed some light on the matter? I've had a look on the net and been through all the options I can see in the gui and web but all I can see is how to add credit, not how to use it.
TIA

The dongle is plug and play.
What should happen is you plug it in to your computer, it connects, downloads a small program, and off you go.
When it runs out of credit, it tells you to go to the Vodafone website to buy some more.0 -

I've gotten that far but I can see I have £5 of credit and just over 100MB of data available, I just don't know how to use the credit. Does the dongle automatically use the credit when it needs it or do I need to do something?
Thank again0 -
Yes, the dongle should automatically use the credit.
So open your web browser as you do normally, and it should work.
Bear in mind the credit will last well for ordinary browsing - this site, for example - and emails.
But you'll run through it quickly if you watch moving images on sites such as YouTube.0 -
You really should have asked before purchase. The modem you have purchased is very poor value for your intended usage.
Of course, if you checked coverage beforehand and Vodafone was the only choice, that would be different.
But, likely you didn't. Perhaps you should have gone for something that gave you a larger data allowance over a shorter period, rather than a small data allowance over a longer period.
Typical woman eh, buy first, repent later.

The OP doesn't specify any intended use, other than: 'to tide me over for a couple of weeks', so I don't see the need for stupid sarcasm.0 -
dongle will be preset to use the credit for the data you wont need to do anything - you will have needed to register and then you should be able to go onto as you did before.
I live in and extremely rural area and I use BT for my broadband for ages and ages. I become increasingly fed up with my lack of speed which at times fell well below dial up!!! in the end I needed to work from home and got my self a dongle just as a temp measure - 6 months later I am STILL using it as I get better speeds....really simple to use.
just relax and go online you will find it takes your credit off as you go along0 -

Stupid is as stupid does. Looks as if your comment qualifies.
Ex-partner cut Internet off on Friday, so likely she bought the dongle on or after then.
Modem is supplied with 2 x 250MB. OP is already down to just over 100MB from the first 250MB. That is just over the weekend.
So 500MB over two weeks seems a stretch.
Since there are other packages available at the same price point, but with 1/2/3GB of data included, it most certainly is not a best buy.
My comment is based on money saving. How about yours?0
