Hi
Quick query for some advice, I purchased a Fisher Price high chair £99.00 after 10 months it developed a crack/split in the plastic leg casting.
I contacted Matel direct as couldn't find Argos receipt.
They sent me a label to send it back to them, and they would send me vouchers. that was it no other help.
This falls down in two ways, how am I meant to send back a big highchair though the post (it doesn't come apart) its not the sort of item you can post at the local post office.
What I am meant to do i n the meantime whilst waiting for the vouchers to arrive? I use the highchair every day 3 times a day.
I sent them photos of the fault and asked how I am meant to send it back, and what I am meant to do without a highchair?
their answer - cant I make do?

I don't see what else you're hoping for, as they've given you a label to return it (presumably you just phone their courier to arrange a day to pick it up??), then you'll get some vouchers to buy a new one?
Or did you mean something else by label? What exactly is the label if it isn't for a courier return?
As for having no high chair, then surely you can manage for a few days??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
no courier, just a first class postage label, that I have too package up the high chair and post it back,- that's what my post says.
The local lost office would not take it as it was too big, Matel WILL NOT pick it up.
Manage without a high chair yes wonderful idea can I come round yours and feed my son?0 -
Improvise - tie your son to a chair with a wide scarf, or if he's too small, sit him on your knee. Of course you can manage without a highchair for a few days. It will be no more than a very slight inconvenience.
Re postage - ring Mattel, and tell them that the PO won't take it, and ask them to arrange a courier. Or get them to confirm they'll reimburse you if you arrange for one yourself.0 -
Mattel have advised they will not refund for a courier service, they have sent me a postage label and that I should post the faulty item back.
The local post office will not take it as its above their capacity.
Having a 2 year old and a newborn baby means I need my son to be SAFELY strapped in, As I can sit next to him at the table and feed the baby.
What I would like is for them to pick it up and replace it that doesn't seem to be asking too much.0 -
How was the high chair packaged when you purchased it?
Regarding the baby not having a high chair... there is always a way around this without compromising safely,.0
