Some of you may remember my long haul with DWP in January through to May, to ascertain my pension entitlement after my OH died in January. Well, eventually they sorted figures out, and my state pension was upped to £566 per 4 weeks, which added to my private pension of £150 per calendar month entitled me to PC of £4 per week plus a reduction of 35% on my council tax ....not exactly a kings ransom, but just enough to live on. But I've always been used to having a certain amount of "wriggle room" and so I managed to find myself a part time job - 26 hours at MRP, paid weekly - so I notified DWP and Council and obviously gave up any entitlement to addtional benefits - what I earn far outweighs what I could receive - and I'm more than happy with the situation - I have to get up and get out, and meet people.
Yesterday, at work, I was told that I was entitled to WTC????? Is this really so? Surely not!

We got WTC along with pension. They take your earnings into account, and deduct it from the WTC award. Ring the WTC line and they will advise you. It's a bit too complicated for me to explain, but we found the WTC line to be really helpful.
Or you could go to the benefit calculator at the Turn2us website.0
