After all you've been through and suffered with this if it were me I'd just get the refund and try to put it behind me and never buy from them again. I would spread the word to others not to either.

Its bad enough having to go through the whole dragged out saga but for you to even have to ask them for something towards costs and compensation for your time, stress and suffering on top of a full refund just shows how bad they are. They should have already thought about that and gave you extra for it with the refund and offering you 20% off is an insult, they should not expect you to buy again in order to get your more than deserved compensation.
    Thanx

I know, I mean I'm glad I got my refund, but I guess I don't feel appeased. While I have the CEO's ear - I thought it was worth asking. I honestly thought he'd offer me something, ignore me, or just say no - but offering 20% is just... yeah. A slap in the face.

I have responded saying I thought that was a very inappropriate offer, but I'm not going to go back and forth forever. There is still the point that the Express Article could run at any time. I haven't updated them yet, as I don't actually have the refund.

    - keep your powder dry
    - don't forever-slam a door you may yet wish to re-open
    - when the full £ price refund is irrecoverably in cash in your tightly clenched hands
    - put the whole case / issue behind you and live the rest of your life

NOTE : Whatever happens with the newspaper article is Que Sera Sera and was in motion before Grant Abrahams became involved. Grant Abrahams should be taken at face value and assuming he delivers on his promise .. .. should be treated by you with respect .. .. he did for you what you asked of him.

The """very inappropriate offer""" you term I assume as the 20% off a new next purchase might not be taken that way by Grant Abrahams whose job I assume is 'damage limitation' he might assume the £ refund was a """very inappropriate offer""" and withdraw or adjust the terms of the offer with a confidentiality [ non-disclosure agreement (NDA)] if you see what I mean. Keep your powder dry, get the coin, drop it .. .. you had already won, don't muddy the 'refund' water with your not unreasonable and justifiable grievance .. .. .. yet!

What do you mean yet? Get the refund and then let the article run?

They have not treated me with any kind of respect.

Yes keep.both your mouth and your mouse quiet till you get the money. Continuing to pick fights with the company before you get the money may encourage them to either change their mind on the terms of the payment, or the eventual date they make the payment. For example a 'gagging' clause or maybe if you keep corresponding and the newspaper runs the article they could withdraw the offer altogether, and go to litigation knowing you can't afford it.

Get the money first, then and only then do the newspaper / whatever you wish.

  • i purchased the Aries Electric wheelchair from Betterlife and what a load of crock it is. Again the footplates jam causing the front wheels to freeze thus being dangerous to operate especially when trying to board a bus or train. I have emailed the company and rejected the sale and await their response.
