Year 2 SATs CD Roms....

I'm looking to buy a CD Rom (or sets of CD Roms) to help my daughter with her Year 2 SATs work.... can anyone recommend a good one? I had a look at some today, but they all looked too easy for her or too uninteresting!

Thanks!:D

my son has the "full marks" ones :)
  • Please please please don't do this!

Yr 2 SATS are just a way of the government checking that schools are doing their job.

Extra practice at SATS won't help your daughter with anything in the long run in fact it could stop the school from having a true picture of what she can and can't do.

Obviously this is your choice - I just hate the idea of children so young being put under exam pressure!
Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet...

I COMPLETELY AGREE! I am a school teacher (year two actually) and DO NOT agree or condone these 'helpful' extra SATS practice papers/CD Roms. They do not help teachers and I personally feel that they put more pressure on the children and at six and seven, pressure, is not what they need. They have their whole lives to worry about exams...why start now? My children just know that it's 'special work' and we just try our hardest.

Please, please, please, please do not go down this route.

:o when i read the OP thread I thought it said SATS stage 2

not yr 2 :o :rotfl: Only realised when i saw the "they put more pressure on the children and at six and seven" comment :o

So ignore my comment about the full marks CD roms as they are for key stage 2 :o

(though you may be able to get them for other ages / yr groups too  )

i fully agree with the other comments - no child needs coaching for tests at this age - its a baseline to identify strengths and weaknesses. Let your child be a child!!

I totally agree with Mrs Pepperpot, but I did buy a pack of cd's for both my kids to play & learn, they've not used them for ages, but I find them quite good.

Its called "The essential sats key stage 2 pack" Full marks ages 7-11, think I got it off ebay last yr.

It contains, English skills, Maths skills, Mental Maths, Science, Junior Topics, spelling.

Im not one of these pushy mums who says sit down and get them done, (and Im not saying you are one either) I brought them as an extra fun learning game, but I totally agree, kids dont need the extra pressure.Hence why they've not been used in months

My son is doing his practise Sats this week and Ive told him, I love him no matter what, and just to do his best"
