MBNA credit card ppi - help please

Hi there
First time on the forums today - I always read them but never registered before.
A quick question - I have had lots of credit cards and loans over the years and never took the PPI option because we always thought it was a bit of a con. However I was always unsure about MBNA and the other day I found a statement from 2005 with a PPI payment on it - trouble is I have destroyed all other statements so this is all I have.
Complication - I do still have the account with them but we are now on a DMP with CCCS and have a large outstanding balance with MBNA amongst others - can I still try and claim it back? Is it best to do the SAR plus £10 for starters to get my records sent over?
Any advice much appreciated!

Good luck & fingers crossed eh!
  • Hi there, yes not sure about how to prove it. Can't really remember how I took out the card but probably over the phone as it was yonks ago before online applications became popular.

Hoping there's someone out there that can help us!

    Cheers
