Laptop on TV

Hi folks

I bought all the correct cables to connect the laptop to my tv however I can't get the picture to work.

I can get the sound to play but no pictue.

any ideas?

    Exactly what Ian said, there should be an option to switch to TV display. Also if your on an Nvidia video card, if you right click on desktop there should be an option there too.
  • where will this option be?

    also although the screen is blank if i move the mouse curser the screen does flicker a bit
  • if its playback of divx or dvd then it wont though on certain chips.Alternatively if its viewing desktop or powerpoint then look in all of the vga settings for 2nd output, dual output.

    This isn't any help, but thought I'd let you know your not alone! I did the same and managed to get my desktop & progs etc, but no video through media player or sound! The TV auto tuned to PC but maybe I should have done something with the laptop settings? :confused:
  • its showing the 1st display and 2nd as the same thing. does the 2nd need to be a different option?

    or here although you need to let us know what connections you have on the lappie and what cables you are trying to use, and one other thing, what connections do you have on the tv

  • thanks that helps, i want to update my graphics card driver. how can i tell which one is mine.
  • ok im using the s-video connection from my lappy and connecting to the tele is a scart cable.
