Second Chance Offers?

Just had to send my first SCO out to someone, just wondered if people usually take them up?
I had to cancel someones winning bid almost immediately, because they were new (zero feedback, which I rarely trust anyway..) and They emailed saying they didnt want the item  wouldnt mind but they put a snip bid in! ...anyway, I canceled it, because I cant be bothered with the hassle, even if they paid there would no doubt be more... but yeah, do peopel bother with Second chance offers?
I'm also regretting sending it so quick lol, must look a little strange a SCO coming through minutes after the auction finished but I was livid and just wanted it to sell :rotfl:

I don't understand people who won't sell to new ebayers or to people with zero feedback..surely everyone starts out like that?!?!The more one gets to know of men, the more one values dogs.0

Yes I agree. But I hope they gave you a good reason for wanting to cancel, as they messed up your auction and deservice a npb strike.
I do several second chance offers when I have several duplicate items to sell. I find I have approx 50% take up rate.0 -

It's not that I don't sell to them, just that I'm usually a bit more cautious/dubious of them, they said they didnt want it, and fearing that they either don't understand how ebay works, or just thought they'd try there luck I cancelled it to avoid any hassle... (Though I did rush to this conclusion tbf):jThe Money Saving Wannabe :j

Has the original buyer formally agreed to the mutual ? As until they do you are stuck with the fees until it times out on day 7.
AS for SCOs I only use them on duplicate items and get about a 50% take up rate.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. yes the original buyer agreed, so it's all cancelled and done. I guess otherwise I will have to relist, annoying but it was a popular item so should hopefully sell again:jThe Money Saving Wannabe :j

I get about 50% take up on SCO's. Am not sure about your comment about rarely trusting zero feedback - how many feedback did you start with? OK on this occasion they were a timewaster but hope you did the full NPB on them.
You just can't tar everyone with the same brush. My current NPB is an established seller, who has listed and sold many things in this last week but can't seem to find the time to pay for the item she bought from me... !:hello:
