Relisting items under different ebay account

Hi I hope someone can help. I have an ebay account with 300 items listed. This weekend ebay are only allowing you to list 100 items with free listing. Is there a way to relist the other 200 under two separate ebay accounts without having to start the listings from scratch. That is, is there some way to automatically transfer listings from one user account to another.
Ebay seem to allow you to have additional user accounts and list 100 items per account, so not sure why they are restricting each account to 100 as the net result is the same. I am not a business seller, just having a massive clearout. Thanks for any advice on this.

I'm assuming the other accounts are already open as otherwise you will be restricted on the amount you can list.
Normally it is possible to upload an unsold listing to turbo lister and transfer it across to another account but obviosly that is not going to work. So I suspect unless someone knows differently, you will have to cut and paste from one account to another, one at a time.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Is the 100 free listings 100 per account or 100 per person?
If it is per person, ebay might not like you listing on multiple accounts (If they have any way of spotting it).0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
The other account is already open but I've never used it at all. It was not even set up as a seller account. I did this and then went to list an item and it told me I was restricted to 10 items as a new seller. Then it went on to say that if I was already a Seller I could tell them and they would associate the two accounts and that would mean they could remove the 10 item restriction.
So both accounts have the ability to list 100 items it's just going to be a real pain having to physically re-enter 200 items!
As I said, if ebay are going to allow you to have multiple accounts and list 100 items per account then I can't understand why they won't just let you carry on listing 200 or 300 items under one account as it is really the same difference. What a pain! I'm going to try an online chat with them to see if there is some way they can automatically transfer over some of the listings to my other account. Will post back if I have any positive results....!0 -
I would be extremely careful about contacting ebay about transferring your auctions to a new account to get round the restrictions. I suspect they will more than helpfully explain that once you register as a business you can list whatever you like- most private sellers try and stay under the radar to avoid ebay mistakenly thinking they are listing enough to be a business.
I also suspect that once you link the two accounts they will limit your free listings accordingly. Personally I wouldn't chance it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi
Thanks for the replies. I don't think I am doing anything wrong or not permitted - certainly I'm not trying to do so! I've been listing and re-listing 300 plus items under one ebay user account for many months now, each time there is free listing.
This time around there was a notice about only being able to free list 100 items. So I asked ebay via Chat if a second user account could be used and they specifically told me that would be fine (I have the chat transcript).
When I went to "resurrect" my other very old and never used ebay user account I listed one item and it told me there was a 10 item restriction. But it then PROMPTED ME to say if I was already an established seller with another user account and if so to enter that account and they would run their checks (they rang me with a PIN number to input) and once this was done the restriction was immediately lifted and that second account now also has a 100 item restriction.
I'm not a business seller and not trying to be underhand in anyway - just having a huge clearout of unwanted clutter and trying it all on ebay for a while before disposing of it elsewhere.0 -

Ebay do want accounts linked as it makes it easier for them and telling you that you can have extra accounts is perfectly correct, but it doesn't mean that they won't see it as a way of avoiding the 100 cap on FLW and penalise you accordingly.
Also it doesn't matter whether or not you are a business seller, it is whether ebay decide to class you as such- and that's why most private sellers try and stay under the radar a bit.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi Soolin,
Thanks for your reply. In my "chat" with ebay when I was asking if it was okay to do this I specifically explained the reason and asked if what I was proposing to do was allowed and they confirmed - again I have it in the transcript.
It's just that I didn't ask them at the time if there was an easy way to transfer over the 200+ listings to the new accounts, rather than having to type from scratch, which is why I posted on here in case anyone knew.
Surely the ebay person I was chatting to would have told me if this is not permitted but they specifically said it was fine. That's why I can't understand the reason for the restriction to 100 items in the first place if you are allowed to just list additional items under a new account. I've been listing/relisting around 300 items for at least the last few months without any problems. It doesn't seem to make any sense really...Hey ho....!0 -
Ebay tell you whatever you want to hear just to get you off the phone. Some of the things regulars have been told on here are quite unbelievable.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
