End of contract with O2

I've currently got home phone and BB with O2 with the 12 months coming to an end. The BB is free and the line rental is something like £12 or there abouts.

I will be calling them to negotiate a deal but who offers the best deal around at the moment.

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

ONLY your minimum term is 'coming to an end' - the service and contrract you agreed will continue regardless - so take your time and make sure you get what you want and don't rush into anything because of a mistaken belief your service will end!

Since you are already on a very good deal, leave it as it is unless your promotional offer is coming to an end. Changing your tariff will force you to migrate onto one of the less advantageous current tariffs.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • Macman is saying right to you that you should continue it unless your promotional offer comes to an end..For me you are having a good deal and should not think of changing your tariff plan..!!

The free BB promotion is ending. Missed the call centre by a few minutes. Will call again tomorrow and let you know how I get on.

Ask O2 to extend the promo deal in return for another 12m contract.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Spoke to them last night and they refused.
they are willing to give 6 months free (like new customer)
Did you actually managed to get free broadband for 12 months?
    Cheers

Doubtless the 6m free will be on a new tariff, not on the legacy tariff.
