Ice fountain listings banned on ebay.

Options
Ice fountains are against Ebay listing policy, which I never knew. I only found out when ebay removed the listing I put up of them. Didn't realise they were considered sparklers, but now I consider it, I guess they're mild fireworks.

Do ebay find these banned listings by waiting for them to be reported, or do they do searches? Just wondered if I can relist avoiding key words?

If not, any other places where I can sell them please? I don't have an amazon account, I never sell at boot sales and have 24 of these things to dispose of somewhere. We'll never use them as the boys character on them has now been grown out of by DS.

Thanks

They don't patrol the site themselves, it will have been reported by a busy-body, sorry, I mean a concerned member of the public.
  • Could try gumtree or facebook, we have a few local sites on there that sell items of which we have had quite a good success rate and best of all no fees
  • Some person will snap them up
(and attempt on sell them on eBay)

If you've been warned about it, and then relist then you risk your eBay account (and no doubt if it was someone who reported it, then they will notice the relist).

Apart from ebay banning them, how would a seller get them to their customers for a reasonable delivery charge?
They are flammable items and are therefore prohibited from being sent via Royal Mail or any other standard courier.
The seller would need to have an arrangment with a courier who was happy to take dangerous goods and this wouldn't be cheap.

Thanks Shaun. Its a Firework I would have though it would be obvious you weren't allowed to sell them via ebay.

We must tell the Royal family I'm sure they'd like them at state events.;)

What people are supposed to do and what they actaully do are comepletely different!! I'm sure plenty of people send all sorts of prohibited items via RM. Unless RM check the contents then I reckon a large percentage get away with it too!

I'm selling something via another forum that includes CO2 caplets - I have stated that it is collcetion only as I cannot send the caplets via the post but that hasn't stopped a few idiots asking me to post them anyway as "no-one will know"!!

Presumably you don't do that, though, if you are calling them idiots?
