niccy it is a good idea but will not work in this case as the programs will have entry's in the computers registry. The new machine will not have those entry's. By putting the old hard drive in the new computer it will still not add these entries to the new computers registry.
The only way to get those registry entries onto the new machine is to backup the registry entries need for those programs. I would not recommend a novice do this as it can lead to bigger problems if done wrongly. Also it is probably easier just to re-install the program on the new computer.0 -
Th other advantage to re-installing programs is that you can do it in stages and only put on the ones you find you are actually missing. No point having a nice shiny new PC and immediately filling it up with all the demos and programs you loaded just to try out that you don't actually use. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
