I wouldn't do it personally, it sounds dodgy - could you ring their customer services and find out if they've been sending out emails like this?

phishing is the process whereby crooks send emails to people that look genuine asking them to log onto a website to check their details.
their aim is to gain your login details so they can clean out your a/c.

NEVER NEVER NEVER click on a link in an email to any finacial a/c.
  • Hi all, this is my first post (been hanging around for a while!) I have just checked my e-mails, as I also bank on-line with Halifax. I have not had one from their technical support so suspect it a scam/phishing etc. If it was 'real' they would send one to everyone with a Halifax on-line account wouldn't they?

    Definately a scam.
I get them regularly for banks I don't even have accounts with.
