hi i recently purchased a tv dvd combi for my daughters bedroom (am rather annoyed as usually buy from a shop on there things like that:mad:) but i bought it from a seller so was 2nd hand. however when recieved it have found that it doesnt work and does not play dvds
i have emailed the seller who bascially said it was working fine blah blah blah but i can send it back etc, she then said that as she doesnt usually do refunds the item will be tried and if it works fine then she will be telling ebay etc etc. my questions are...: what if i send the item back and she says it does work or was damaged in transit? and if i do send it back how do i know she will give me a refund she may just close account etc i am just a bit worried as to what to do, i do not complain whenever i have purchased things in the past but £60 is something i cannot afford to lose, any advice would be appreciated thank you guys x:)

Send it back via a tracked method, a courier would be the cheapest option. If the seller doesn't refund the whole of your initial payment, including postage then you can open a SNAD, you have 45 days to do that.0

Someone correct me if imwrong, but should the op put in a SNAD before posting tthe item back, and then wait for instructions to return it?“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

No. The buyer can send the item back before a dispute as most returns won't even come to that. But OP, send it back tracked (courier) and keep the tracking details.
If she doesn't refund you willingly (the entire amount you paid originally) then file a dispute with Paypal and upload the tracking.
It will cost you about £8ish to send it back via courier and that won't be refunded, everything else will. Doesn't matter if she says it works better than when she sent it.0
