Freeview HD on a not-quite full HD LCD tv

Hi
I have a Sharp Aquos P50 which isn't full HD but does support up to 960 x 540 dots.
It was said to be better than full HD for normal transmissions when I bought it 5 years ago.
Will I get the improvement in quality if I buy a HD Freeview box now for the channels that do transmit in HD ?
thanks all

No! The set can't display the full HD signal.

It's nothing like HD. HD must be at least 720 lines vertically, this set has 540 according to you. FreeviewHD is far better than standard Freeview, so if you can tell the difference between your Freeview pic and a DVD, go for it. I'd invest in a better TV first though...
