Working Tax Credit - new job

Hi

I will be starting a new job tomorrow having signed off of jobseekers allowance.
Does anyone know when I will receive my first payment of working tax credit? I applied on Thursday. Does it tend to take a few weeks or is it reasonably soon?

It takes ages (took mine 8 weeks) and a note for the future. Do not sign off until you have actually started the job and done a few days work and actually like the job, fit in and will stay. You can work up to 16 hours in a week without having to sign off which should cover the first 2 days of work then sign off on the third day of work backdated to the first day. You will then get 1 more JSA payment covering you to the day before you started work. How long have you been out of work? Will you get a run-on of payments? Or a back to work payment?

I've been on jobseekers since March 2010 - will get mortgage interest run on and council tax (I think)
I thought it would be quicker than that
