Worth trying my little business idea or not?

  • There are 2 main probs, time and confidence. I work 3 days a week, look after my 2 year old the other 2 days, and OH has just started self employed so is working lots of strange hours. DS starts mornings at nursery in Sept so would have a bit more time then but it is only 9 - 11.30 each day so not long to get anywhere, set up, sell then take down and come home to pick him up. Have been looking into going to toddler groups as hopefully he could come along with me.

Confidence is the other problem, both in myself and the business. OH doesn't think it's a great idea and has come up with an alternative to work alongside him to an extent which could be good, but that scares me a bit as well (computer training in people's homes). I'm not keen on selling myself so the initial marketing could be an issue, although I'm sure I could get over that if I tried.

Why don't you wait until sept, explain what you're about to the nursery your child is going to and ask if you can try there first as a dummy run, worst case is you get to know some of the parents better.
