MBNA ppi success

To say I'm stoked that MBNA have upheld my claim is an understatement!

They are reimbursing me £2,650 which I was not expecting and total amazed at that figure. A very happy family and well worth the time to fill in the forms and send off :j

Just waiting to hear from Tesco now! ;)

  • Congrats.

I've just had good news via my claim too.

My journey has not been as long as some but has been just as arduous.

    Enjoy spending your return !

    I will.
  • Hi

Have you got your refund yet? They agreed to mine and now waiting. Do they pay up within the time frame they state in their letters?
  • I got my MBNA refund within 21 days of the letter.

I've had my cheque now too - not within the 28 days stated on their upheld letter, it was closer to eight weeks - which I think it now says on their hold system. Check the interest they've paid, mine is wrong so the settlement is now in dispute (they've sent the cheque for the original amount they offered anyway with a full and final settlement letter). Now waiting for more paperwork from them.
  • Recieved my letter Saturday morning saying my claim had been upheld in the sum of £6049.48p. What a result.
This site is a godsend and i would never have been capable of doing this without the guidance provided by Martin and his fantastic team (including those on the forums).
Thank you all for putting the little guy first. Keep fighting!

    Well done!

Was it for CC PPI? If so what mis-selling did you have? I'm just doing my MBNA SAR now. 1 down, 2 to go!

sorry for the delay in responding. Yes it was for CC ppi and i complained on 2 grounds. Pre exisitng medical condition (Asthma) and Critical Illness cover which was provided by my employer thus negating the need for PPI in the first place.

I am also looking at taking on another CC provider on the same basis. Will keep you all informed.

PS; Reading through Martin's excellent article on Energy companies misleading customers I am now contemplating taking them on as well.
Originally advised my wife £30 p/m DD would be sufficient for our electricity then 12 months later they read my meter and wanted to put it up to £235 p/m.
