Garden furniture full of rot. My bad luck?

Hi, I bought a set of garden furniture form ebay. I've put the description below. It turns out its full of rot. DH says its firewood but is persevering with rot treatment and so on. Some of the slats are just about rotted right through in places. I don't really want to give good feedback and and feeling a bit mis-sold. Would I have any right to complain or is it just bad luck? Would I be right to give bad feedback?
The furntiture had to be dismantled to transport so they probably didn't realise how bad it was before but I think given it's age ( it looks a few years old ) and the fact someone has tried to cover it up with a ( bad) coat of paint already I'd say it shouldn't have been a suprise.
"STURDY STRONG FURNITURE. THE SET HAS BEEN IN THE GARDEN AND USED AND THEREFORE COULD BE DOING WITH A COAT OF WOOD PAINT OR VARNISH ANY WEAR AND TEAR IS ONLY COSMETIC AND COULD BE TOUCHED UP TO GIVE YOU A LOVELY OUTDOOR DINNING/SITTING SET OF FURNITURE."

Hi
You could open an INAD dispute if you paid via pay-pal, if you paid via cash though I doubt there is anything you can do other than contacting the seller and hope they will take it back and give you a refund, describing it as sturdy strong furniture is a little misleading however..... hope you didn't pay a lot for it.....

You should give them a chance to rectify the problem so I would let them know and see what they say in response.0

Hi again
I think I would get in touch with them and let them know that the wood is rotten, see what they say before leaving feedback, if you had paid via paypal you would have got your money back..... remember for next time eh!!!

Here is what Ebay says on the matter!!
QUOTE 'You can pay for your eBay purchase by PayPal, cheque, credit card or money order; just check the listing to see which methods the seller accepts. It's a good idea to check that the seller's payment options work for you before you bid. Contact the seller directly if you have any questions.
Most members prefer to use PayPal, as you can make payments without sharing your bank details. You'll also be protected for the full value of your purchases (including postage) under eBay Buyer Protection
Cash payments, or electronic transfer are not allowed on eBay as there's no proof of payment' UNQUOTE
Collection means it's more convienient for both parties but the seller cannot stipulate that they want cash on collection if the buyer agrees to this then they pay the consequences of not being protected... simples!!

Where on eBay does it say that cash payments aren't allowed? you're making things up.
but like you saidYou can pay for your eBay purchase by PayPal, cheque, credit card or money order; just check the listing to see which methods the seller accepts. It's a good idea to check that the seller's payment options work for you before you bid.
If cash on collection works then it's allowed, and is the most sensible option.0 -
