Cheapest Country in Europe to fly to and stay in

I have a writing project I need to get done.
In perhaps January next year, I want to travel somewhere in Europe, hole myself up in a hotel for a fortnight (maybe up to a month if I can afford it) and get my writing done.
Peace and quiet essential, so being in the middle of nowhere away from all distractions would be a bonus. Countryside perhaps? Although having a supermarket nearby and perhaps one or two places to eat out would be good too.
Does anyone have an opinion on this - which countries in Europe are cheapest, in terms of flights, food and cheap accommodation?
Many thanks

the non tourist areas of bulgaria are cheap, veliko turnavo was really cheap even in the hieght of summer (last year), but it maybe too cold. Varna on the coast out of season is likely good value. Plovdiv is good too, flight direct from london (with easyjet or ryanair)
Eastern europe on the whole away from tourist areas are always cheap, even germany can be very reasonable.
what is your writing project, what inspiration will you need. would you prefer to write indoors outdoors.
by cheap what do you mean, would you be happy to stay in a one star and eat pizza pasta for 1 euro a bowl/slice0 -
i would opt for Bulgaria. Cheap as chips.credit card bill. £0.00
overdraft £0.00
Help from the state £0.000 -

I don't need any inspiration - I've done all the research, I just need to sit down and write it all out.
I'd stay in a hotel just to be sure it's warm in the Winter.
But I'd definitely consider renting a one bedroom apartment for a month if I could get one cheap. But if it's cheap, it might not be what I need. So I guess it would have to be an upscale apartment, because it would need to be quiet and have heating and have a supermarket within walking distance.
Ideally I'd cook at the apartment each night, maybe going to a restaurant a few times a week.
I'll look into Bulgaria, maybe I could rent a nice apartment off-season for a month - thanks for that suggestion0 -
Poland's quite cheap, (they're still with the zloty) the apartments in Krakow are good.
Would be a bit chilly in January though!Normal people worry me.0 -
Turkeys cheap.0

I vote for kaunas, cheap as chips to eat and drink etc and naff all to do when you're there!Live each day like its your last because one day you'll be right0

Some of the non touristy areas of the Czech Republic would also fit the bill. Olomouc is lovely, small and very cheap. The closest airport is Brno but you can also get there from Prague or Bratislava.0

Personally I think you need some warmth so you can sit on a balcony and ponder with a glass of wine if you get writers cramp... It would be Spain for me or Portugal..
Portugal has really unspoilt inland areas where time has stood still... Costs are low and transport ok but a car might be useful. . I m thinking Alentejo
In Spain how about flying into Malaga and heading inland towards the villages of the Alpujarra (anywhere upwards of Lanjaron) The other areas I would look at would be Serrania de Ronda0 -
For a month, it might be worth spending more on the air ticket to go somewhere ridiculously cheap and save on the accommodation and food. Inda and China might be options. In both countries, I have had the experience of travelling on expenses but not bothering to claim the costs of my meals, because the bother of saving the receipt was more than the cost warranted.0
