I submitted PPI mis-selling claim on POS form 020611. Got reply within week acknowledging, stating 8 weeks needed, but seeking clarification that I was actually complaining. I responded on 130611, basically spelling out what I was claiming. I then got a further acknowledgement from a different person, giving a timescale now of 16 weeks. Basically I am interested to know how that compares with others' experience of LTSB, how long they are taking and how many cases they are challenging. Also, anyone been pestered by these PPI reclaim companies, offering to take the case up for a slice of the £££action. Is there any evidence of banks giving priority to claim cases submitted by these companies.

    Hi and welcome

    I am not sure about the claims companies, but I understand banks are stating not to use claims companies on some of their websites.

    The FSA had given extra time for them and other banks to deal with the backlogs, which I understand going from the top of my head that complaints made after May they changed to 16 weeks, and as from 1st Sept, it went to 12 weeks for a temp time.
    I am also caught up in the 16 week timescale, but did have a few resolved before all this were taken into affect of extra time.

    I don't think any of the banks are keeping up, there was some news on this site the other day, here;
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/reclaim/2011/09/banks-fail-to-hit-ppi-complaints-deadline

    Even though Lloyds have confirmed to me they may still resolve before the 16 week timescale, but I think it will probably go all the way in my opinion.

    There is no harm in asking them for an update now and again, on the email address below, just remember to give them the claim ref number, good luck.
