    Wow guys thank you for all of the input, think I'm safe to opena 2nd account with one of the recommended banks, Co-Op or Barclays. I'm much happier doing this rather than my mum opening an account in her name.

    Didn't expect such controversy :) but once again you have all stepped up to the plate re my initial question
