Had the MOT at a Council Depot and all is well, until next year0

As previously stated I work for a local authority
A taxi test is far more stringent than an MOT, when we do a taxi test we will issue a MOT certificate for around £25
You should see some of the bodges they try to get past an inspector
In addition I've seen taxis presented with bald tyres, ineffective brakes etc. Just think they were carrying passengers last night
Others the cars are immaculate, if it fails they are most upset that they have been using an unroadworthy vehicle
The problem with the MOT test is that the manual frequently says in the testers opinion.
We have good and bad testers as every garage does. I pick who does the MOT on my car and it's not the one who will pass anything. It's the one who will only pass the car if it meets the required standards. I wouldn't ask or expect anyone to pass a car that was unroadworthy
Taking vehicles for HGV tests, used to be an inspector at the local VOSA station, if you got him you knew you would get a failure. He appeared to take it that he wasn't doing his job correctly if he couldn't find a fault0
